RinovaCell®: what is it and how it works?
It is a portable electromedical device, designed in the practical 24h suitcase format. It is patented also for its use in the domicile of the patient and it is designed for experienced healthcare operators: both nurses and physicians who work in the vulnological/dermatological field.
RinovaCell® generates controlled high frequencies electromagnetic wave (2, 4 o 8 MHz) between the discoid and the insulated mat, the two tools which are in contact with the patien. The healthcare worker can modify, in any moment of the therapeutical session, the emitted power (up to 70W) to adapt the treatment to the patient’s sensibility.
The technology is developed specifically for the treatment of skin lesions: the safety measures, inside the machine, prevent any kind of stress (both thermal and not thermal) which can be delivered to the patient in the site of application
Moreover, Rinovacell® does not need conductive creams or anestethic gels.
Therapeutical effects
RinovaCell® enhances the physiological regenerative ability of the skin and the dermis thanks to the interaction between the controlled high frequencies and the skin tissues through different dynamics.
How does the high frequencies work?
Biologically, the high frequencies enhance exponentially the local blood flow though a significative arteriolar and capillary dilation, hence they induce the reopening and reperfusion of precedent ischemic areas: the fundamental metabolites – oxygen and nutrients – are brought massively where they are needed for the regenerative process.
Though the rising of the local metabolic rate, the high frequencies act to rebalance a permissive microenvironment in order to allow the physiological re-epithelialization process to take place.
Also the lymphatic drainage is favoured: though a wash-out mechanism proinflammatory and pro-pain mediators are taken away. From here the antalgic and antinflammatory effects.
The endogenous ulcer sterilising processes (immune system empowerment) are also enhanced: the reinfection rate drops. This effect finds its rational in the ability of the white cells to interact more easily with the damaged tissues: the higher the blood flow the higher the amout of leukocytes which get to the interested area, higher the amount of active leukocytes and their antimicrobial capacity.
Thanks to its dynamics, RinovaCell® allows to:
- Reduce effectively and quickly the edemas.
- Reduce significantly the pain, from the first sessions.
- Reduce the reinfection rate, and so, in the long run, reduce the inflammatory state of the ulcer.
- Speed up the re-epithelializing process and so the ulcer closing process. This effect was seen also experimentally in the Ritraled study, in the chronic diabetic foot lesion (Reference).

Rinovacell®: handpiece and discoids
The Rinovacell® handpiece is new-designed tool, it is specifically patented an is made of biocompatible materials. It is ergonomically designed and irradiates the treatment in safety for both the patient and the healthcare worker.
Inside the product there are two discoids, of elliptical shape, of the dimensions of 30 and 50mm: the different dimension allows to treat more comfortably different body areas.
The discoids are easy to disassemble and are covered in glazed titanium bioxyde: these two aspects permit to sanitise very easily and quickly the discoid after each usage.
Moreover, the handpiece can slide on the skin and on the hairy areas without the need of conductive creams or gels: by this way the treatment is easier to deliver.
The Rinovacell® handpiece can be used:
- Statically: just keep the discoid and the handpiece steady on a specific spot.
- Dinamically: sliding slowly the discoid on the skin following the trigger points.

Rinovacell®: insulated mat
The insulated mat of Rinovacell® is soft, bendable and easy to clean.
The insulated mat does not need to be placed in direct contact with the skin of the patient, hence there is no compulsory need to undress the patient. This aspect easen the usage of the device in any therapeutical setting, from the ambulatory bedside to the seated position, or to the bedside of patients with walking impairment,

Rinovacell®: 24h suitcase and deploying cart
Rinovacell® is designed to be handy and portable; moreover it is patented for its use in the domiciliary setting.
The suitcase, strengthened with steel, is light, compact and resistant to impacts; it is provided with specific keys to lock the suitcase to achieve complete safety.
The deploying cart is though to further easen the ProNexibus Plus® usage in the ambulatory setting:
- It has specific vanes for the suicase and for the handpieces.
- The cart is buil with solid and easy to clean materials.
- The wheels does not leave unpleasant marks on the floor.
